Accidents happen every day across cities in Ontario, such as Ottawa, Kingston and Whitby. Many Ontario cities have programs dedicated to making roads safer for their drivers. Ottawa, for example, has the Safer Roads Ottawa Program which is committed to preventing or eliminating road deaths and serious injuries for residents of Ottawa. The program is a partnership between Ottawa Fire Services, Ottawa Paramedic Service, Ottawa Police Service, Ottawa Public Health and the Public Works Department.
The program also releases annual collision reports of the City of Ottawa. The reports provide information such as when accidents are most likely to occur during the day, the age of drivers involved in the accidents, and top intersections where accidents happen.
