Team Bergeron Clifford, Injury Lawyers, just returned from Spain after competing in the Mundiavocat http://www.mundiavocat.com/ Soccer World Cup for Lawyers. This was the team’s first time at the World Cup event which has been happening for over 30 years, although last year the team did compete in the Americas Cup in Santiago, Chile.
The team and tournament has been covered in the media over the past two years:

Team Bergeron Clifford, Injury Lawyers entered the competition with an 8-man squad for the 5-a-side tournament, which took place on 1/3 side pitches and goals. All of the players in the tournament are lawyers or judges, and in this edition there were approximately 2,000 players from 100 teams, representing over 40 countries. During the tournament Team Bergeron Clifford, Injury Lawyers had the privilege of competing with teams from Argentina, Algeria, Iran, Russia, and Portugal.
When not competing in international soccer tournaments, the lawyers at Bergeron Clifford practice injury and medical malpractice law throughout Eastern Ontario. The geographic range is quite large and the lawyers spend a lot of time on the road visiting clients in home and hospital and attending at Court from Toronto and their Whitby office and the Durham area, east through Cobourg and Peterborough, to the home office in Kingston, with a presence in the Belleville to Brockville areas and all the way to Cornwall, and then up to their Ottawa office and through the Lanark County region including the Perth office, Smiths Falls and Carleton Place, and extending into the Ottawa Valley area including Renfrew and Pembroke.
Because of the firm’s large geographic area it was natural for the team to include not only three lawyers from Bergeron Clifford (Gavin Cosgrove, Warren WhiteKnight, and Joe Dart), but also five lawyers from other Eastern Ontario firms, including Andrew Howard from Smiths Falls and Carleton Place, Ross Pryde from Peterborough (http://www.fox-law.ca/our-firm/ross-d-pryde/), Craig Halpenny from Perth and Westport (http://www.barkerwillson.com/our-firm/our-people/s-craig-halpenny/), Kyle Shimon from Cornwall and Ottawa (https://stlawyers.ca/team/kyle-shimon/), and Jordan Tekenos-Levy from Oshawa and Kingston (http://fightthecharges.com/jordan-tekenos-levy/).
